4/06/2005 As expected, the Minuteman craze was little more than hype created by some very conservative activists who are angry about immigrants coming to the US illegally. Salon has a great take on this issue and make special note of the fact that long-standing conservative website Free Republic has made it apparent they don't want to be associated with the Minutemen. What's funny is how easily this small group, who disrupted the Immigration authorities more than the immigrants, were able to manipulate the mass media and get so much attention. Another story that has yet to get much media play is the opening of the jury selection in the trial of accused serial bomber Eric Rudolph. Rudolph, for those who don't know is accused of the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games bombing as well as bombing an abortion clinic in 1998. New evidence suggests that he may have been associated in one way or another with a Tennessee church.
