4/21/2005 This is probably one of the oddest stories that have come from Iraq in a while. According to the Shia involved in the government somewhere around a hundred people, all Shia, had been kidnapped by Sunni insurgents. After a raid of the village that they were supposedly kidnapped from no one was being held hostage. Now fifty bodies have been found in the Tigris river. Where did they come from? Reuters reported that there was scant evidence of a hostage situation. Of course the question is, when the media is too intimidated to go much beyond the Green Zone, how much real information can we possibly receive that isn't released by the Occupation Authority? |
